The first two books are available and the third volume will soon be published. This series of books gets my highest recommendation and I consider them a must buy for readers and collectors of fiction magazines.
I've read a lot of pulp SF and thought I knew a bit about the history, but the amount of detail packed into this slim volume surprises me at every turn. Concentrating on just a single year, the book overviews every SF magazine, book, film, and even play that came out in that year, making it an invaluable reference for the reader or collector. Added to this is a set of thoughtful and interesting editorial articles. I have never known a resource like this, and I look forward to many more of them.
