An important work on documenting science fiction & First Fandom

I found the 1926 and 1927 books to be seminal works in documenting the dawn of sci-fi and fandom in the 20th century. Fascinating information and insights, these will stand as important works for future generations of historians and fans. But don't think that these are dry academic works. They are fascinating, educational and fun reads! And each issue is more comprehensive than the last. I welcome and eagerly await each subsequent 'year' to become available. These are important works.

A tribute to sf silent films

I cannot praise this book enough. Although the theme for this title seems to be the classic silent film Metropolis, there is so much more coverage here of the pre-sound sf films. There is a detailed history of the sf silent film genre which begins with technical history of film production, then a detailed coverage of all the sf films from 1895 to 1925, followed by a 4 page long directory of lost sf films! The masterpiece is a 40 pg deep-dive into Metropolis. Highly recommended!
