    Brilliant and So, So Necessary!

What an incredible, detailed, fascinating book! The amount of research is just dazzling: Frank R. Paul's speech at the 1939 WorldCon? Yep, it's there. And the overview of space opera, from its very beginnings? Priceless! This book, and the entire series, is a necessity for any and every true science fiction fan, student and writer of the genre. I'll be pouring over this book for months...let me get back to it now....

    Third volume, third impressive document

I haven't read it yet, but the first look seems as good as the two previous ones. A lot of information related to the year in question and more.

    1928 Space Opera

These books just keep getting more amazing with each new volume. I haven't read it yet, just skimmed through, but the number and quality of the photos and covers is just overwhelming. Some of the articles like the one on Jack Williamson looks to be the most detailed of any I've ever seen, outside of Mr. Williamson's autobiography WONDER'S CHILD. The overall scope of space opera in general covered here is massive. I am in for many wonderful evenings of reading and yes, re-reading!
